STUDENT HEALTH SERVICES IN JYVÄSKYLÄ

City of Jyväskylä Social and Health Services are in charge of student health care services at JAMK UAS. Student health care services are available to all students on week days irrespective of where they come from. Student health care services include health care (health examinations, vaccinations, birth control, etc.), medical care, mental health care, and monitoring of the health conditions of the study environment. Unit-specific information is provided by the public health nurse at the beginning of the academic year and in Student Intra Elmo.

NOTE! There are some specific rules about the health care services for foreign students and the services may be subjected to a charge. The charges vary depending on the nationality of the person. EU citizens’ European Health Insurance Card confirms that holders are covered by health insurance in one of the EU member states. The citizens of non-EU and non-EEA countries are not covered by the Finnish national health insurance. It is therefore extremely important for them to have sufficient insurance coverage of their own. In any case a person residing in Finland temporarily has the right to urgent medical care in Finland. More information on health services for foreign students
